hemp pills for dogs

The safety and risks of using CBD for dogs have not yet been researched. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved CBD and has not issued a dosing chart. Therefore, we do not know what size dosage would be toxic. Any medication or supplement carries the risk of a reaction. It is always advisable, when giving your dog something new, to start out with small amounts and then closely monitor the effects. And always check with your veterinarian first.

Currently, there has been no formal study on how CBD affects dogs. What scientists do know is that cannabinoids interact with the endocannabinoid receptors located in the central and peripheral nervous systems, which help maintain balance in the body and keep it in a normal healthy state.

Why are we hearing so much about CBD oil now? Dr. Klein points to the legalization of marijuana in many places, which has triggered interest in potential health benefits of marijuana-related products. “We are likely to see continued interest in CBD and an increase in research about its uses and efficacy in the coming years,” he says.

Risks of Using CBD Oil for Dogs

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in cannabis and hemp. Dr. Klein says it is essential to note that in most cases, CBD oil does not contain delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound that gives marijuana its psychoactive properties. In fact, most CBD products are derived from hemp and not from marijuana.

If you and your veterinarian decide that you should try CBD as a treatment for your dog, there are a few things to keep in mind when purchasing CBD oil. Not all oils are the same; you’ll want high-quality CBD oil to have a better chance of it working.

While there’s no definitive scientific data on using CBD to treat dogs, there’s anecdotal evidence from dog owners suggesting it can treat pain, especially neuropathic pain, as well as helping to control seizures.

According to Dr. Klein, CBD is also used because of its anti-inflammatory properties, cardiac benefits, anti-nausea effects, appetite stimulation, anti-anxiety impact, and for possible anti-cancer benefits, although there’s no conclusive data on this use.

I got a little yorkie and she’s been on phenobarbital for over 2 yrs now. at first the meds were working but then she had a seizure once. then twice. then they started occurring more often so looking online we read that CBD could help so I started giving her these capsules in her food twice a day now and it seems that it is working because she hasn’t been having any seizures now and it’s been over 3 weeks. Just want to say thank you!

These pills are very convenient for my dog. I can just add them in my dogs wet food giving her one in the morning and one at night. She has bad separation anxiety whenever I leave the house she destroys the backyard and the inside of the house too! I’ve been giving her these for over 3 weeks now and she seems so much more calm so I think they are working properly.

The Innovet Difference

When it comes to finding the perfect dose to give your dog it can be overwhelming. Dogs come in all different shapes, sizes, and they have different needs depending on case by case situations. The good thing is that figuring this out is not as hard as it looks and we can get you the perfect CBD dose relatively quickly. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect science and that is why we have designed different CBD products such as these capsules. Some 50lb dogs might be able to handle 10 drops of oil whereas other 50lb dogs can’t handle one drop of oil but the 5mg capsule is perfect. This usually has to do with that dog having a sensitive stomach. It is not the CBD the dog has a problem with bot most likely the carrier oil is too much for his stomach to handle. This dog will still need an effective dose but we don’t want him throwing up all day so a capsule just might do the trick.

CBD protects endocannabinoids, such as anandamide, from prematurely breaking down before they can attach to endocannabinoid receptors. The attachment between cannabinoids and receptors plays a vital role in the biological response an a organism’s ability to naturally protect and repair a wide range of biological functions.

You can expect the same high-quality hemp product as before as we are one of the few phytocannabinoid companies that deliver a 100% all hemp product that uses hemp seed oil instead of medium-chain-triglycerides as the carrier oil. Hemp seed oil is rich in healthy fatty acids, as well it contains 20 essential amino acids.
