Second, those buying CBD oil in bulk can count on special wholesale deals that offer large quantities of CBD goods at attractive prices.

South Carolina residents can find plenty of brick-and-mortar stores that sell premium-quality CBD products. But if you don’t live near any of the stores we mention in the article, you can always buy CBD oil online and have it delivered right to your doorstep.

It’s no wonder that CBD has grabbed the wellness industry by the throat. It allows you to experience the majority of benefits from cannabis but without getting high.

Is CBD Oil Legal in South Carolina?

Speaking of which…

First, selecting available CBD products in online stores is generally much wider than in your local health store. If you want to try more than just regular tinctures – like vape juices, gummies, oral sprays, or pet care products – the online vault will welcome you with open arms.

Simple marijuana possession has not been decriminalized. First, first-time offenders can face a minimum of $565 fine and up to a month in prison for being caught with up to an ounce of marijuana.

If your CBD provider meets the above conditions, it’s a keeper.

Get caught with any amount less than an ounce for a first offense, and you could face up to six months in jail and a $200 fine. Any offense after your first is punishable by up to a year in prison and a $1000 fine.

South Carolina doesn’t treat marijuana lightly. Even possession of small amounts can lead to prison time and hefty fines.

Unfortunately, South Carolina has some of the strictest marijuana laws in the United States. Marijuana is currently illegal for both medicinal and recreational purposes; this is partly because marijuana remains an illicit drug in the eyes of the Federal Government.

The CBD industry is rapidly growing, with new laws introduced continually; this can make it difficult to find a reliable supplier of CBD.

Although South Carolina has implemented a medical CBD program, the state makes it very difficult for patients to access it. Currently, the program is only available to a small selection of epilepsy patients.

Unfortunately, it’ll likely be quite some time before you’re able to walk into a dispensary and purchase your favorite strain of marijuana in South Carolina.

CBD can be made using both flowering marijuana and industrial hemp plants. Flowering marijuana plants are the ones we usually associate with stoners.

The same bill advanced to the floors of the South Carolina House and Senate last year, but the session ended before the bill was debated by the full chambers.

Manufacturers could make and sell CBD oil legally, provided they used hemp that had been imported. They were also restricted to using only the plant’s mature stalks, fiber, oil, and seeds to make their oil, since these parts were not included in the definition of “marihuana” under federal law.

CBD is a natural chemical compound found in the seeds, stalks, and flowers of cannabis plants, including both hemp and marijuana. Completely non-intoxicating, CBD does not elicit euphoric effects.

South Carolina’s Medical Marijuana Law

The passage of the 2018 Farm Bill last December clarified the legality of hemp CBD oil at the federal level. The bill contained provisions that legalized the domestic manufacturing of hemp so that farmers could grow, process, and sell the plant commercially. It also legalized hemp nationwide for any use, including the extraction of CBD.

Under federal law, CBD oil that’s derived from hemp, rather than marijuana, is already legal to buy and use under federal law, regardless of a prescription or recommendation from a doctor.

South Carolina lawmakers passed “Julian’s Law” (Senate Bill 1035/House Bill 4803) in 2014 to legalize marijuana extracts containing no more than .09 percent THC and at least 15 percent CBD. Under South Carolina marijuana law, children and adults who have obtained the recommendation of a doctor can purchase and use this cannabis oil that’s derived from marijuana.

These parts of the hemp plant are what hemp oil companies, like us at Medical Marijuana, Inc., have been using to produce our CBD oil products since 2012. We were the first company to bring hemp CBD oil to market, and all of our products, including Real Scientific Hemp Oil TM (RSHO TM ), contain pure hemp CBD oil derived the parts of hemp that have been legal.
